Paths & folders

Find the path to your root folder, see which default pages the ASP server uses, and read about write access – permissions cannot be changed with CHMOD via FTP.

The path to your root folder is d:\web\localuser\domain.dk\

If you need to access the public_html folder, the path will therefore be d:\web\localuser\domain.dk\public_html\

Remember to replace domain.dk with your own domain.

The path can also be retrieved using the ASP function Server.MapPath()

Start pages

On an ASP server, your start file (the file that is read when a user visits http://www.ditdomæne.dk) must be named one of the following:

  1. default.aspx
  2. index.aspx
  3. default.cshtml
  4. default.asp
  5. index.asp
  6. index.shtml
  7. default.wml
  8. index.wml
  9. default.html
  10. default.shtml
  11. default.htm
  12. index.htm
  13. index.html

The files are read in the order listed above, so those mentioned first have higher priority than the remaining ones.

Write access

There is full write access to all files and folders on each individual ASP (ASP.NET) webhosting plan. It should therefore not be necessary to adjust permissions.

Furthermore, permissions on Windows cannot be set using CHMOD via FTP.
