Access with AI / MCP

Simply.com offers both a REST API and an MCP, so you can automate the administration of your web hosting services.

¶REST API

The REST API allows you to programmatically manage all aspects of your hosting, from domain and DNS setup to email accounts, databases and file transfers. The API is based on standard HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) and returns responses in JSON format, making it easy to integrate with both internal systems and third-party tools.

¶MCP

Simply.com's MCP is designed specifically to be used by AI systems for fully automated management of your hosting services without human intervention.

The MCP is optimised for machine-readable interfaces and enables AI-based workflows to carry out complex tasks quickly and reliably. For an in-depth review of the features and advanced settings, you can read the full documentation.

We recommend having the AI agent use the MCP to troubleshoot errors and search logs.

The AI agent can also connect to our REST API if you give it our OpenAPI spec.

¶Upload files with AI

An AI agent can upload files to our products using SSH or FTP.
Most AI agents can easily do this if they access our MCP, which provides instructions on how best to do it.

¶Troubleshooting with AI

Your AI agent can access the files on your web hosting plan using SSH, and run commands to examine your code.
Agents can also examine logs through our MCP.
