Auto-reply, or “out-of‑office” messages, are used to automatically send an automatic email back to people who send an email to a given mail account.
Auto-replies are set up via our Mail Administration, which you can find in our Control Panel. It can also be set up for an individual user via the link here www.simply.com/mail/autoreply/
Step 1: Set up auto‑reply via the link www.simply.com/mail/autoreply/
Step 2: Log in to auto‑reply
Step 3: Fill in the form and select Save
Be careful not to write that you are on holiday and how long you will be away. Everyone who sends you an email will receive a reply with this information, including spam emails and other unpleasant people.
Auto‑replies are considered by many to be an irritation if the content is not relevant or informative – so we recommend that you only set up an auto‑reply on a mail account for short periods, such as during absences, and not permanently.
Note that auto‑replies are not sent if the sender is the same as the recipient, and auto‑replies are only sent to each recipient every 12 hours, so if the same person sends you 10 emails within 20 minutes, they will receive only one auto‑reply back.
