Outgoing connections from web servers
At Simply.com there are no restrictions on outgoing connections from web servers, so your applications can freely access external services and APIs.
There are no restrictions on outgoing connections from web servers at Simply.com.
This means that your web applications can freely initiate network connections to external services and servers without being blocked by our infrastructure.
The connection will always come from the web server's own IP address.
What does this mean in practice?
- API calls: You can access third-party APIs (e.g. payment gateways, map services or weather APIs) directly from your website or application.
- Email sending: SMTP connections to external mail relay services work as expected.
- Remote script execution: Cron jobs or background processes can fetch data from other servers (e.g. XML feeds or JSON endpoints).
