Hide WHOIS information

After the introduction of the GDPR, information about domain ownership is no longer publicly available for most domain types. Therefore it is no longer necessary to enable “Anonymous WHOIS” services or similar protection.
Which information is displayed in WHOIS now often depends on the legislation in each country and on the domain’s top‑level domain (TLD).

As a domain registrar, Simply.com always strives to ensure that as little information as possible is displayed publicly.

In our Control Panel you can set up a “Public e‑mail” that is shown on all domains you own; this can be a different e‑mail address from the one attached to your Simply.com account, but it must be a valid and active address.

¶For businesses

If you register a domain as a business, you cannot be sure that the information will remain hidden, as business information is normally not considered personal data. For private individuals, personal information is, by default, hidden.

As a result of the NIS2 directive and special rules for certain TLDs, some information, such as the e‑mail address, may still appear in public registers.

¶.dk domains

To hide information on .dk domains, name and address protection in the civil register is required.
