Punktum dk is changing the way .dk domains are handled. From now on all domains must be renewed and managed through a registrar, as is the case for other domain types such as .com and .se.

Therefore you can no longer renew your domain directly with Punktum dk.

¶When does the change happen?

From 1 July 2026 new .dk domains can only be registered through a registrar, and renewals can thereafter only be done one year at a time. If you have a domain that is currently registered directly with Punktum dk, you must choose a registrar from that date.

No later than 30 June 2028 all .dk domains must be transferred to a registrar – after that no one can manage .dk domains directly with Punktum dk.

¶What does this mean for me as a domain owner?

You simply need to choose which registrar will manage your .dk domain going forward. Once you have chosen a registrar, everything related to renewal, DNS and support will be handled there, on a single platform.

¶Can I choose Simply.com as my registrar?

Yes, you can do that easily. It is 100 % free to transfer your .dk domain to Simply.com, whether or not you use our name servers. You retain full control over your domain and can continue exactly as before.

¶What if I already have Simply.com as my provider?

If you do not already have us as your registrar, you can, in the control panel under Administration, choose to transfer your domain to Simply.com management. It takes only a few seconds and is completely free.

¶How do I transfer my domain to Simply.com?

When the order is completed you will receive an email from us with instructions to complete the transfer of the domain to us.

¶What if I have DNS/name servers elsewhere?

You can still transfer the domain to Simply.com and use us as the .dk registrar while keeping your existing name servers.
The transfer does not affect the operation of your domain – you simply get a single point of administration.

¶Do I still need to use MitID?

Yes. Punktum dk remains responsible for ID verification of .dk domains. You will therefore still need to confirm your identity with MitID when transferring or making changes.

¶What about VID service?

VID service at Punktum dk is no longer particularly relevant, as transferring a .dk domain in the future will require an Auth‑Id, and that Auth‑Id secures the domain. We generally recommend not using or paying for VID service.
