Does Simply.com delete my email?

The only time we remove e‑mails from our server is when an e‑mail account is completely deleted in our mail administration.

If you notice e‑mails disappearing from our server (from your webmail), it is most likely because you have set up a mail programme to connect to your e‑mail account, and this programme deletes e‑mails after it retrieves them. This is the default configuration in most mail programmes that connect via POP3, but it can also be a setting in the individual programme to delete e‑mails after a certain number of days.

In our control panel, under E‑mail, click the small gear icon to the left of the e‑mail account and select “E‑mail logs”. Here you can see whether there has been a POP3 connection to the account.

There are several solutions to this. The first is to switch the mail programme to connect with IMAP instead of POP3. The second solution is to configure the mail programme not to delete e‑mails after it retrieves them (each mail programme has a setting for this within the application).

If you are unsure which programme is connecting to your e‑mail account, you can change the password for the e‑mail account, thereby preventing any configured mail programmes from connecting.
