Setting up FTP connection in macOS

  1. Open the Finder application.
    Du kan finde Finder i din Dock eller ved at søge efter Finder i Spotlight Search.

  2. Click Go at the top of the screen and select Connect to Server...

    You can also simply press the key combination cmd + K instead

  3. Enter the address for the FTP server. The address is simply ftp:// followed by your domain name and click Connect.
    In the image below it shows ftp://ue-example.com, but ue-example.com is just the example domain we use, and you should of course enter your own domain name instead.

If it does not work with your domain name, you can instead try entering ftp:// followed by the address of the web server your webhosting is on. You can find the server address under Administration in the control panel on our website. It would, for example, be ftp://linux1.simply.com

  1. Set Connect As: to Registered User and enter your FTP username next to Name:.
    Enter the FTP password in the Password field and click Connect

The username is the domain name of the webhosting you are connecting to. If your webhosting has the domain hjemmeside.dk, the username would be hjemmeside.dk, for example.

If you do not know the password, you can log into our control panel, click on your webhosting and click Login Details. There you can reveal the FTP password by entering the password for your Simply.com account.

  1. You will now be able to access FTP via Finder on the left under Locations.
